It is a really annoying problem that I've suffered many times. Another way that you find if others have been copying your material is to do a Google search for one or two sentences from an article, placed in quotes. I usually use sentences from the second paragraph as I've found lots of spam sites that copy only the first paragraph and that's usually not worth bothering with and could, I suppose, be considered "fair use."
