inadvertentfarmer - hehe. You should see the faces my husband makes when I till the garden in bare feet. ;)

Sandi - Some of those gardening clogs are very still. These seemed pretty pliable, but if you have had problems with clogs before, you may want to find a gardening center nearby that has some you can try out.

Gail Williams - Ohh, those horse chestnuts can be a bear (or a burr). You would need to be pretty thick in the feet to stand those.

Kathy & Katherine Myers - Thanks for the comment. I am glad to hear that!

Heavy Petal - LOL!

Huh. Good to know I'm not the only one who goes barefoot in the garden. Just last night my husband was joking that my soles are so calloused that I don't need a pedicure - I need my feet resoled.

Muck Boots are the best gardening shoes I've ever had. It hurt at first to pay more than I usually spend for 'work shoes', but they are worth every penny. I wore them all summer with sport socks, and didn't find them hot or heavy. They are also easy to keep clean, and don't have the usual deep treads on other boots that collect so much mud. I love them!

I was surprised to see my favorite garden shoe on your blog. I have been wearing these shoes in the garden for a year now. I always wear sport socks with mine as they are a little large. Since I have sensitive feet I simply love love love these shoes. Thanks for the review and I love your blog.

Your writing is a joy to read. I understand the search for shoes. I, too, am a barefoot or flipflop person. There are some issues with the wisdom of this since I do have Chestnut trees in the yard. I have yet to build callouses deep enough to protect me from Chestnut burrs.
Thanks for making me smile.
